The numbers that matter: 2878 (massacred) and 9/11/12 (marking our continuing inability to add 2 + 2 re: the meaning of Koran 9:111)

Some have remarked on the vividly, horribly poignant coincidence between the date of the Twin Tower (and Pentagon) attacks -- 9/11 -- and the Koran verse most dreadfully pertinent to those attacks, verse 9:111:

Truly, Allah has purchased of the believers their lives and their properties; for the price that theirs shall be the Paradise. They fight in Allah's Cause, so they kill and are killed. It is a promise in truth which is binding on Him in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) and the Qur'an. And who is truer to his covenant than Allah? Then rejoice in the bargain which you have concluded. That is the supreme success. 

What has not been remarked upon, however, is that one of the common ways to denote a date (at least in America) is month/day/year, and if the year is a single digit, a zero may be added before it -- or not.

Thus, the date of the Twin Tower (and Pentagon) attacks was:  9/11/1.  

Don't worry, kind reader, I'm not alluding to some kind of Farrakhanesque farrago of quasi-gnostic numerology here.  But those attacks certainly did entail an enormous concatenation of efforts in getting ducks in a row, spanning several years of patient planning on the part of innumerable Muslims in various parts of the globe.  Is it inconceivable that they chose 2001 as apt for this reason as well?

At any rate, the numerical correspondence matters little, since the intent is as plain as the nose on our collective face; and is of lesser import considering that our Western societies all around us -- concerning the problem of Islam that began long before September 11 of the first year of this century, and continues to metastasize around the world worse than before -- still can't put 2 and 2 together.
