A report from Jihad Watch explains in meticulous, exhaustive detail why John Brennan, Obama's appointee to head the CIA is, as Robert Spencer aptly puts it, "disastrous".
Congress approved Brennan by a 63 to 34 vote.
Guess who comprised the vast majority of those who still have their heads screwed on straight enough to oppose this catastrophic appointment? As I've noted before, being conservative or Republican does not necessarily exempt one from being PC MC about the problem of Islam (as the recent fiasco involving CPAC's ostracization of Robert Spencer painfully demonstrates). Even so, there is evidently more rationality resident in the Republican party than there is in the Democratic party -- as can be searingly seen in the following roll call:

Question here is - would the roll call have been the same had it been a Republican president nominating him? Or David Patreus? Or Chuck Hagel (who after all also had an (R) after his name? Problem is that unlike in the Cold War, both parties are heavily compromised w/ the enemy - the (D)s b'cos of the anti-US hatred, and the (R)s b'cos of the Islamic oil money that greases their palms.
LIke I said, the conservatives/Republicans are infected and compromised by PC MC, but nevertheless they're not an exact carbon copy of Leftists. They do show signs of being better, by minimal degree, here and there. A Michelle Bachmann, for example, would likely not be able to arise in the Democratic party. Of course, we should never say never; but for now, and the way it's been for decades, there is a minimal difference in degree. And I think that slight degree presents the hope of a potential wedge by which to widen the crack, as it were.
As for palm-greasing, this isn't about money. If it were the wrong cause, in terms of political correctness (e.g., supporting the Aryan Nation, or Apartheid South Africa, etc.), no American politician would touch such a hot potato for all the money in the world. Money is a factor only to the extent that the perception of the politician in question is muddled on Islam. And a crucial factor in muddling perception on that issue is the distraction of
1) the sheer numbers of Muslims,
2) their world-wide demographics
3) their "ethnic" appearance
4) the rubric of "world religion" with which Islam is reflexively endowed.
Key point: #4 is intimately bound up with #3.
Indeed, #3 is the most important cog in the whole machine, without which the whole thing would fall apart, for the fear of being "bigoted" and "discriminatory" is the most important motivating factor in modern Western politics -- and the one ethnic group that enjoys and exploits this fear of ours the most is the group of Muslims.
