The pièce de résistance, the straw that finally broke this beleaguered camel's back, the occasion for the snap I felt deep inside my psyche, was the horrific Mumbai-style attack on Paris yesterday.
What snapped in me did not mean I suddenly changed my view of the problem of Islam (as in, it suddenly became in my mind more pronounced or resolved -- as if that's possible); nor that I suddenly changed my view of the PC MC mainstream (as in, I suddenly got more fed up with their tragi-comic dementia & denial than I've already been for years). Thus, it wasn't the Problem (of Islam) that did it; nor was it the Problem of the Problem (the Western mainstream myopia to the Problem). It was the Problem of the Problem of the Problem that finally triggered my soul to leave my body. I think it happened at about 10:39 p.m. last night.
This tertiary Problem is, generally speaking, the problem of the Counter-Jihad performing egregiously sub-par and being blithely oblivious to its mediocrity. If my reader might ask me what I mean by this, I'd have to wave a weary hand in the direction of my hundreds of essays and comments over the years in which I have exhaustively analyzed this every which way but loose (one small example were the over 2,000 comments I logged during the months Jihad Watch comments were frameworked by IntenseDebate; and more broadly the reader can consult my 10-part series, Taking the Temperature of the Counter-Jihad).
And, to add insult to injury, when the few of us who dare to point out constructive criticism of these flaws in the Counter-Jihad, in the interest of quality control & improvement, more often than not we meet mocking or even hostile resistance, or perhaps worse, indifference. If this isn't bad enough, this passive-aggressive hostility & defensive static energy the critic encounters seems to be protecting a soft underbelly guarded by most in the Counter-Jihad, strangely resistant to a robustly anti-Islam stance.
For the purposes of this essay (rant), I define (but do not limit) the "Counter-Jihad" in terms of the Jihad Watch comments fields and in terms of the anti-Islam chat rooms (such as they are) on Paltalk.
All of what I've described thus far may not have been enough to make me snap, had it not been for my belated realization that the community I had been seeking from these two venues really hasn't been there. My mistake was to keep thinking the potential of a community in my mind was enough to make up for its pathetic dearth in actuality. And after this latest Mohammedan military assault on a major Western capital, I realized I need a community more than ever: a place like Cheers where everybody knows your name and you can come in after a hard day at work or in "real life" and find some commiseration, some intellectual stimulation, some comraderie, and yes -- some disagreements (since no two people on God's green earth never disagree about something).
More than the sum of all those parts, however, I need a community that cultivates a Zero Tolerance of All Muslims. This means that the problem of Islam is the problem of all Muslims for a multitude of reasons everyone should know by now -- and it means no soft spots for Kurds, no optimism about Egyptian "reformers", no hope invested in Iranian "protesters", no hope for Muslim reform in general, and nothing but jaded cynicism for unctuously pseudo-sympathetic "moderate" Muslims like Irshad Manji, Zudhi Jasser, or Maajid Nawaz... Etc., etc., ad Islamonauseam.
Yesterday afternoon, after I saw brief mentions of the Paris attack here and there, my immediate impulse was to dial up Jihad Watch. Since I first discovered that site in its fledgling early days back in the Winter of Aught Three, it offered a singular source & perspective in a world increasingly burying its head in the sand on the banks of De Nile. As was my wont & habit, I plunged into comments fields of the latest two articles about the event. It wasn't anything new for me to notice and become quickly annoyed at various signs of softness or inept thinking among the commenters. What seemed different this time was that my disgust finally reached its threshold. I couldn't take any more of their obtuse pretense at being robustly no-nonsense, politically incorrect counter-jihad text warriors. The same occurred shortly thereafter when I dove into Paltalk chat in my vain (and probably naive) attempt to find some intelligent consolation in my hour of need.
Something snapped.
For years and years, I realized I had been beating my head against the wall in those two places, hoping to kindle some kind of real community; but as they say (to mix metaphors), you can't squeeze blood out of a turnip.
So, to Jihad Watch comments and Paltalk, it's not au revoir -- it's adieu.
You -- whoever "you" may be -- know where to find me if you need me.

You already have found the first person to give you this on Paltalk. I know the reactions to the Paris attacks were disturbing but what is the difference between giving up hope for the counter-Jihad and giving up hope for the West?
GoV hated when I would quote this article and would delete my comments:
http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/vjw/spain1.html
My dear Hesp, unless you are deleting my comments on your site, my Jewish censors are at it again! Yeah!
Not yeah, but yeesh!
No Egghead, I never delete your comments.
What I wrote that was deleted:
The difference is well-defined.
The counter-Jihad is largely multicultural and irreligious. Atheists, yes! Gays, yes! Indians, yes! We must have a big tent, insists GoV.
But, history has shown time and time again that the TRUE hope for the West is when white Christians decide to fight the SPIRITUAL war against Satanic Islam.
Spain was ruled by Muslims and administered by Jews for many hundreds of years before Christians reclaimed Spain.
Contrast this to your frustrating period from 2003-2015. You must 'keep the faith' about your cause so that you may be a foil to me. For surely, I am more pessimistic than you because I have to try to convert everyone to Christianity before non-Christians happily murder us in the here and now - and themselves in eternity....
If you are looking for community, you might try listening to Christian radio. The folks that I listen too have a great handle on the situation and argue that Muslim immigrants should be sheltered in Muslim lands rather than the West.
P.S. I hate auto spell check! Argh!
I listen to the station with Sandy Rios in the Morning.
Her audio files are here:

Hesp I essentially agree with you. The Counter-jihad and all the other players on our side are locked into intellectual and emotional attitudes that haven't essentially changed since just after 9/11.
I've never used Paltalk so I don't have an opinion on that but what I have seen on counter-jihad sites and similar is that a lack of progress in following through the logic of Islam and of how we must therefore deal with the existential threat that muslims pose to our civilisations - by which I mean not only our own civilisation but all non-islamic civilisations.
I think I've posted in your comment section before that muslims not Islam are the problem. Without muslims to enact it Islam is an inert corpus of scriptures, laws, and traditions - as inert as the Code of Hammurabi now is.
It is muslims we have to deal with. All muslims, including those who in their hearts would not harm us, because we cannot tell who those "fake" muslims are, we cannot see into their hearts and we know that their scripture and their tradition urges them to deceive us.
I hope you continue to publish here at "the Hesperado" because for those of us who "get it" it's encouraging to read the words of someone who has thought the problem out so thoroughly but I understand absolutely why you have decided you won't be commenting in any of the places you formerly have.
I, like you, expect that most people in Europe and the Americas won't wake from their slumber until muslims cause deaths here in the millions, as I'm sure they will as soon as they can steal the technology.
I vehemently disagree that ALL the other players on our side are somnolent.
Christian radio and its listeners are fully awake and engaged.
You guys are hanging around with the wrong people....
Also, nobody who caused this fiasco cares a wit about white Christians. Rather, the idea is to manage conflict in order to obtain permanent control of the masses.
As I tried to explain to GoV, Christians see that most counter-Jihad sites are irreligious and find and donate to friendlier sites. I told GoV, if you want to increase donations, you need to 'speak' to Christians....
Wow! Whoever controls the Internet REALLY does NOT want to let me to post comments about the names of certain commentators on Christian radio!
Let's see if a computer is censoring the Internet?!
Look up the radio shows of these American Family Radio commentators:
Perkins - Tony
Fischer - Bryan
After a few hours and then again after a day or two, let's see if these names disappear for the third time....
One more thing, GoV was crystal clear that GoV would remain a 'secular' site so as to avoid 'offending' non-Christians - particularly Jews and atheists! You know, because Jews and atheists are SO delicate - and also were the people who saved Europe from Islam last time....(NOT!)
For GoV, that entailed a refusal to allow (really very tame) essays to address and/or describe the spiritual aspect of the Christian side of the Islamic 'holy' war against Christianity.
Egghead,
Tony Perkins appears to be solidly pro-Israel:
http://www.frc.org/op-eds/washington-dc-where-christians-unite-for-israel
http://www.frc.org/get.cfm?i=PG13F01&q=israel
Plus on his website, a contributing author (William Wagner) uses the phrase "Graeco-Roman / Judeo-Christian" approvingly:
"Do the Islamic authorities mean what they say? If so, their doctrines seek nothing less than to replace the American constitutional republic, grounded in deeply rooted Greco-Roman / Judeo-Christian traditions, with the formal establishment of Islamic government, birthed in jihad and grounded in the Shariah."

Yes, I am well aware that this Christian radio (which is financially supported by some big recognizable names) fully supports Israel.
One full-in host and full-time host (Fred Barnes, I think, I apologize in advance if I am wrong) actually said of the United States, 'We owe our allegiance to Israel.'
To which, I left a voice mail that the United States owes our allegiance to Christ and the United States - but most definitely NOT Israel!
Fill-in. Argh!
Hesp, on a regular basis, my comments are disappearing from your website. Some immediately, and some after a lapse of a few hours. It does help if you acknowledge because then I know you saw it. :)
Egghead,
"Hesp, on a regular basis, my comments are disappearing from your website. Some immediately, and some after a lapse of a few hours"
It might be some technical thing you're doing (or failing to do) where you think you've published but you haven't.
My disappeared comment basically said:
Christians MUST try to revert the West to Christianity because Muslims are trying to revert the West to Islam.
You might think so, but these are comments that appear on your website and then disappear - and they are comments about certain subjects.
I am NOT using Facebook, but I have heard tell that Facebook has taken to 'fooling' controversial commenters by showing them their comments as if they have posted, BUT the comments fail to appear to anyone except the individual commenters!
Remember it was Merkel caught asking Facebook to censor German comments about the Syrian refugees.
And, other commenters are paid to troll the leftist positions on conservative websites.
The powers that be WANT everyone to think that they are alone, so that they will lose hope and stop resisting. That alone should make you fight while you can. ;)
I met a random family man at the park today who had quite a handle on the problem. He was so grateful to meet me! More people are waking up and YOU must be there to welcome them!
YOU are quite necessary! :)
Anonymous,
"You already have found the first person to give you this on Paltalk."
Well, not in the sense of community -- two people isn't a community. And secondly, even with that, there were peripheral problems I wouldn't want to go into here, but they made it frustrating over time.
"I know the reactions to the Paris attacks were disturbing but what is the difference between giving up hope for the counter-Jihad and giving up hope for the West? "
I'm not so much giving up hope for the counter-jihad as I am recoiling in dismay from the way it is now. It just doesn't seem as though I'm the person who can steer it in a better direction. For various reasons, I arouse too much static energy of resistance, mockery, hostility and -- among most of the few who might be on the same page as me -- irresponsible indifference to that static energy against someone like me trying to do something about that poor state of the counter-jihad community.
Thanks again Richard James. Yes, I will continue to post here, and thanks for reading. I also meant to mention (I probably should insert it into my essay) that another potential community has, in various ways and over a long arc of time, disappointed me -- namely, Gates of Vienna.
John 15:18 King James Bible
Jesus: 'If the world hate me, ye know that the world hated me before it hated you.'
Oops!
Jesus: 'If the world hate you, ye know that the world hated me before it hated you.'
Perhaps your true Godly purpose is far different than you realize.
Just your work on Cervantes is so important!
Your 'Good cop, Bad cop' analogy of Muslim psychological technique is seminal!
And then, there is your being a foil to me - far more important than you currently realize, but I have something wonderful (and peaceful) up my counter jihad sleeve....
You'll just have to wait for it....
Thanks much, Egghead, I appreciate your supportive words. Yes, we do disagree rather profoundly about the Problem of the Problem...
So, somebody explain to me again how Jews 'help' Christians with the counter jihad?
"Yazidis, according to the story by investigative reporter Michael Isikoff, are going to be officially recognized as genocide victims, and rightly so. Yet Christians, who are also among the most vulnerable religious minority groups that have been deliberately and mercilessly targeted for eradication by ISIS, are not. This is not an academic matter. A genocide designation would have significant policy implications for American efforts to restore property and lands taken from the minority groups and for offers of aid, asylum, and other protections to such victims. Worse, it would mean that, under the Genocide Convention, the United States and other governments would not be bound to act to suppress or even prevent the genocide of these Christians."
"Analysis from an office of the Holocaust Museum apparently relied on by the State Department asserts that ISIS protects Christians in exchange for jizya, an Islamic tax for “People of the Book,” but the assertion is simply not grounded in fact."
