Be seeing you.

I find it hard to believe another year has gone by since my last posting. It seems both not that long ago, and at the same time ages ago.  Covid messes with one's sense of time that way.

And by "Covid" of course I don't mean the putative biological virus, but the strangely coordinated, oddly irrational, chillingly fascistic response to that putative biological virus throughout the West and throughout much of the West's dog and pony show (AKA the rest of the world; though that would be a journalistic story of its own -- the 3rd World nations who have more or less not abided by the Western Cabal's Covid Directive, and whether or how they have been punished for that post-neo-Colonialist disobedience).

I recall, after I wrote my last posting a year ago on February 21, 2021, when I reread it -- either at the time of publishing it or a few days later -- wondering whether I shouldn't water down my language a bit in that passage towards the end.  Wasn't I exaggerating the gloom and doom aspect of it all?  Surely it wasn't that bad?  Perhaps I should check myself from succumbing too readily to that darker undertow of the Conspiracy Theorist who eventually can become obsessed and haunted by everything...?  Particularly this passage:

It's almost as if we're living in a Netflix or Amazon Prime dystopic sci-fi movie (and not a very good one -- 2-1/2 stars at best) where over the months we have been learning slowly, numbingly, bewilderingly how to make do after a race of weirdly meddling aliens invaded Planet Earth back in March of 2020 to occupy Earth and turn us into slaves while promising to protect us...

I can't definitively answer those questions, but what I can say is that seated here now, writing this on February 19, 2022 (I'll probably write a little today, and a little tomorrow, and hope to publish this by midnight, February 21), I am closer to that pessimistic view, not farther away from it.  And I say this knowing that many in my Tribe (a loosely affiliated, rag-tag group of far-flung people from all over the world who, in various stages of development & awakening, have begun to see that the whole Covid Narrative is a complex tissue of bullshit, horseshit, and batshit, with a guiding undertow of coordination that can only reasonably be inferred to be an international conspiracy) in the past month or so have begun bruiting about farts of hope because recently the Mainstream in various ways and degrees seems to be incoherently relaxing its Covid Fascism.  I, needless to say, am not so optimistic and wish my Tribe would stop Krakening so much.

These anniversary postings I've been writing since 2018.  Back in December of 2020, I wrote a brief note on what the whole thing means ("Anniversaries of a dead blog...").  I wouldn't add much to that brief description now, other than to note that when I started them, I was still focused on the problem of Islam and of the West strangely whitewashing Islam; and that concern, eventually, morphed into the problem of Covid.  Since my anniversary dates are in February, it's obvious why my 2020 posting failed to mention Covid.  It was only in March that it really began to dawn on most of us that something unprecedented was going on all over the world.  True to my principle of waiting only once a year, I endured those 11 more months and by the time and day of my last anniversary, I was ready to delve into it.

Which brings me to another facet.  These postings aren't meant to provide substantive information on various aspects of the issue, nor even to summarize the entire kinesis from some Archimedean point; only to register my state of mind in some deeper way -- which in some oblique way, may be to express a deep trauma (my personal experience of the collective trauma most of us have suffered).  What is that trauma?  It's not some single, simple blow.  It's a complex array of strange and dismaying phenomena convolving a nexus between our personal self and our society; an array that would be outside the purview of these postings to do justice to (one would need to fill an entire book).  One basic quality, which is elusive to get a handle on in order to describe, is this strange disconnect between my personal life and my society.  And this disconnect is paradoxically also a strange intrusion by society upon my personal life.  So the disconnect I refer to means the disconnect between my inner sense of conventional decency & normalcy and my society at large, where there was an unspoken gentleman’s agreement, as it were, between me and society, where the latter agreed to be supportive of my needs (for security and comforts) up to a point, but also agreed to respect my personal boundaries (as defined by me, and me alone).  Of course, there was never a perfect harmony in this regard, neither for me myself, nor for all my fellow citizens now and throughout Western history.  But what I am probing here is not really on the level of conscious norms or moral customs, which (and that's part of the greatness of the West, though a greatness complicated by spiritual flaws, to be sure) for at least two centuries has enjoyed a framework of broad latitude of styles & flavors.  It was on a deeper level, where we the People and the Mainstream around us sort of had an informal, unwritten agreement:

The Mainstream would continue to be a neutral Warehouse for various actors, forces and entities in society to do their thing no doubt some of them corrupt, some powerful, some criminal, but some also decent, some idealistic, some wonderfully creative, some admirably philanthropic, some ambitious, some lazy, some selfish, some not bad people but just wanting to mind their own business -- all of these motley humans living out their activities and dreams within that neutral Warehouse also known as “Society”.  With the advent of Covid, the tenuous, invisible, yet precious fabric of this unspoken agreement seems to have been elaborately ripped apart in strangely comprehensive ways, and then re-woven into a surreal straitjacket, impacting so many different areas of life.  And sometimes I think what really galls is not so much that Big Brother in its peculiarly international morphology is doing this to us from the top down (though they definitely are), but that so many millions (if not indeed billions) of ordinary people -- our acquaintances, our fellow citizens, our neighbors, our friends, even our family members -- are going along with this, enabling it, even believing it, in ways that seem unnervingly bordering on mass hysteria, offset often by ongoing attempts to continue to live life normally, resulting in this weird sense one has that everyone around you has gone mad but is pretending nothing is happening.  Sort of collective self-gaslighting.

This "agreement" that used to prevail in the era B.C. (Before Covid), in my fuzzy description here, is the way it was for so long in the "free West" as opposed to dictatorships, despotic Banana republics, Communist totalitarian governments, Islamic theocracies, etc.  That's what we all thought, semi-consciously, even if we disagreed with each other and even as important problems periodically arose now and then to disturb our collective psyche: Whatever pains & problems that cropped up over the decades, amid ongoing ephemeral pleasures and hopeful plans we had as we navigated our lives, occurred within a neutral context that the West had achieved; for that amorphously enveloping neutral space didn't just pop up out of the blue to bless us.  It was the sociopolitical cultural fruit of centuries of blood, sweat and tears, and God-given reason, and mysterious grace as our civilization grew.  Nor has it been perfect, of course.  In many ways, the so-called “Progress” of Post-Modernity has entailed a deterioration and loss of arguably better ways of living in our civilization’s past.  Whether our ongoing present is a credit or a debit in the long view, what seems to be happening now, given the way things are going, may reveal that our Post-Modernity, with all its exhilarating freedoms and experimentations (social, creative, artistic, political) it has enjoyed & fostered, will only be a passing phase that lasted some 200 years (give or take a revolution or two) between a former classical traditionalism of the ancien régime of the 18th century, and a dawning global technocratic totalitarianism of this weird 21st century we're in now.  The “dawning” auguring, paradoxically, an era of Dark Winter for humanity that, given the power post-modern technology now confers, may last for centuries.

I’ve mentioned the term “the Mainstream” a few times here.  If the reader is not entirely clear on what I mean by it, they may consult my substack series ("What is the Mainstream?") in which I’ve begun exploring the phenomenon (it’s a work in progress).  As I implied above, “Society” in the vaguely general way people colloquially use it can be a rough synonym; though more needs to be explained.  I can summarize with 4 key bullet points:

1.     The Mainstream comprises all major sociopolitical sectors and institutions of life.

It includes Government (local, regional, national, international); News Media; Academe; Big Tech; Science; Medicine; Big Business; Schools; Unions; Social Organizations; Arts & Entertainment.  Other entities one can think of can be subsumed under any one of the above -- for example, under “Government” we would subsume Police, Military, and Intelligence Agencies.

2.     The Mainstream in recent times has been morphing into an internationally systemic unit of interconnection.

All the components listed in #1 above are interlocked in some kind of international cooperation -- not in absolutely perfect lockstep, but nevertheless in unprecedented coordination.  Some may try to argue that this has been the norm since time immemorial, but I think the contrary is arguable -- that in fact this interconnection has been increasing in the past 100 years or so, and in the past few years (particularly the past 2 Covid Years), to a dramatically alarming degree.

3.     The Mainstream has become dominated by Leftism.

Leftism is comprised by an evil faction (a tiny minority of globalists with all the sociopolitical power), and by a large majority of idealistic Useful Idiots manipulated by the evil faction.  The evil faction are not merely evil and indulging their power by simply coasting along enjoying their hegemony, sucking on the West’s teats like a vast Milk Cow; they seem to be ideological fanatics in addition to being power-hungry & greedy, and desire to dismantle the West as it is and replace it with their deformed dream (whatever exactly that may be).

4.     Covid & Trump Derangement Syndrome has revealed #2 and #3 to be true.

From there, we may reasonably infer that the tiny minority of globalists constitute a “Cabal” (which = devisers and managers of an ongoing international Conspiracy to replace the West) and that they have used this “pandemic” as a pretext by which to accelerate their plans; and that the Mainstream broadly speaking has been their infrastructural vehicle to deploy this acceleration.  Exploring the World Economic Forum's tentacular influences throughout the West, for example, may provide a glimpse into this process.

To recap what I said near the beginning, it seems like this Conspiracy is still succeeding, not falling apart as the Kraken Wing of my Tribe has been crowing of late.

As I succinctly put it in a recent tweet response to James Lindsay (my Twitter handle is “Doctor Doctor, My Real Name is Proctor”):

Until next year… be seeing you!
