Quotable Quotes, Notables Note

Mahomet rose up at the risk of his life and insulted the stones (that the Arabs worshipped) shockingly, declaring that there is only one God, Allah, the glorious and the great... And there was to be no nonsense about toleration...

You accepted Allah or you had your throat cut by someone who did accept him, and who went to Paradise for having sent you to Hell.

-- George Bernard Shaw (according to the International Shaw Society hat tip to Jihad Watch)

The International Shaw Society also notes that Shaw described Islam in a 1933 letter to Rev Ensor Walters as "ferociously intolerant".

It's good to know that we can objectively clear this up. When I first heard of it, I was quite flabbergasted to think that G.B. Shaw had ever thought about extolling the so-called virtues of Islam in his writings. "This can't possibly be right", I thought.

Happy to know I was right all along. To think they can stoop so low...
