Classical saxophone for a fin du siècle February...

A 19th-century French classical composer, Vincent D'Indy, and his piece Choral Varie written in 1903, for symphony orchestra and, interestingly enough, saxophone The saxophone (played by Sigurður Flosason for the Iceland Symphony Orchestra) doesn't sound jazzy at all, but almost like a clarinet, yet with a distinctly stronger and metallic sonority.
